Clinical adult psychologist

About me

Experiencing mental health difficulties, trauma, or other significant psychological challenges
can feel frightening and isolating, and I understand how overwhelming this can be.

In moments of crisis, it can be hard to see a way forward, leaving people feeling stuck or
unable to imagine a fulfilling life. I work alongside individuals to identify the right strategies
to reduce suffering, alleviate distressing symptoms, and support meaningful change.

My approach is non-judgemental, empathic, and grounded in collaboration. I support people
experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the effects of trauma, helping them feel
heard, understood, and increasingly hopeful about their future.

My Mission

My interest in becoming a psychologist began when I was young and working in a residential
setting with people with learning disabilities. I witnessed the inadequate and often unjust
treatment that people in this setting received, which sparked a deep commitment in me to
help improve the lives of those needing psychological support and guidance. This experience
led me to return to education to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist.

I now enjoy specialising in individual therapy, offering collaborative, empathic, and
compassionate care to support people in healing and thriving. My unique approach integrates
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) with mindfulness-based practices
to address the root causes of psychological difficulties. As a dedicated mindfulness
practitioner, I have experienced first-hand the transformative impact these practices can have
on well-being.

My mission is to empower my clients to reclaim their lives and cultivate lasting resilience,
well-being, and personal mastery through a personalised and holistic therapeutic approach.

Experience and Models used

I am a Senior HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of NHS experience,
working with a wide range of clinical presentations. I am trained in several evidence-based
therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness-Based
Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

I draw on these approaches in an integrative way, guided by a personalised formulation that
recognises the importance of tailoring interventions to each person’s unique circumstances. I
work collaboratively with clients to identify their aims and goals for therapy and prioritise
building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in safety and trust.
